Graffiti or Art?

I shot this photo at the corner of E 12th street and University Place in New York City, and although I consider myself somewhat of an architectural purist and normally frown upon such defilement, I was both intrigued and fascinated by this expression.

The Art Wall Project is an initiative that supports self-expression through collaborations with emerging artists, who transformed the New York  Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply store’s façade into a large-scale work of art.

The way I see it, this project which mixes fashion, art and architecture, inspires and embraces creativity in a fresh new way.

Sci-Fi? James Bond? Retro 60’s architecture? No . . .

I shot this photo at the departure lounge of the Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City.  While in Mexico I often experience the feeling of going back in time, and I was surprised to learn that this structure was actually built in 2007.

Terminal 2 is flooded with magnificent natural light through the precast concrete façade and glass roof with false gypsum board ceiling that copies the same circular pattern as the façade.  The white chiseled precast concrete panels are 15 m X 1.5 m X .2 m with .3 m holes at .75 m on center.

Interesante y bella arquitectura !
